Giving
Supporting Our Parish
Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must . . . without sadness or compulsion, because God loves a cheerful giver. 2 Cor 9:6-7
The Christian faithful are obliged to assist with the needs of the Church so that the Church has what is necessary for divine worship, for the works of the apostolate and of charity, and for the decent support of ministers. They are also obliged to promote social justice and, mindful of the precept of the Lord, to assist the poor from their own resources. Code of Canon Law, Can. 222
We encourage our parishioners please to give generously from their financial resources to our parish in order to support our mission. (Remember that your gifts are tax deductible!)
We ask that parishioners please make a commitment to donate a fixed amount to our weekly parish collections-and to be generous in our frequent second collections-in one of two ways: either by automatic deposit using the FAITH DIRECT program, or by using parish envelopes.
AUTOMATIC DEPOSIT: To sign up for FAITH DIRECT, just ask the parish office for an enrollment form-or go to the website: www.faithdirect.net (our Faith Direct church code is VA119)
ENVELOPES: To receive collection envelopes, please contact the parish office

Extraordinary Gifts to Our Parish
Our parish welcomes extraordinary gifts, which are special because of the amount given or because of the nature of the gift. In the past, for example, parishioners have donated large cash gifts in memory of loved ones, have given U.S. Treasury Bonds, have left bequests in their last wills-or have given gifts to purchase specific objects like sacred vessels or vestments, having inquired about any particular parish needs. Gifts of over $500 are recognized with a plaque on our MEMORIAL GIFT DONATIONS board. All gifts are tax deductible. For more information about extraordinary gifts, please speak to the Pastor or to the parish Director of Administration.
