WYD '11
World Youth Day (WYD) - an international pilgrimage occurring every 2-3 years for young adults (ages 16 - 35) from all over the world. Occurs in different cities/countries each time. (WYD 2011 will be in Madrid, Spain) A week of catechesis (teachings by fabulous speakers), music festivals, meeting thousands of new people, Adoration with the Pope, a pilgrimage walk (a spiritual and physical journey to a destination) to the overnight Vigil and Papal Mass. Requires fundraising, occasional meetings, passport, a willingness to commit to the preparation plans, and must be 16 years of before the trip begins.
World Youth Day 2011 - preparations are beginning. WYD 2011 will be in Madrid, Spain in August 14-22, 2011 (pre-trip starting Aug 7th also available). Get your passport now. WYD is a gathering of young Catholics from all over the world, coming together to renew and celebrate their Catholic faith. Worship with Pope Benedict XVI, cardinals, bishops, priests, seminarians, men, & women who share the same beliefs. Watch our website for updates or contact the Youth Ministry Office. The cost for the basic WYD trip is $1,500. The pre-trip is an additional $1,300. First deposit of $300 due to the Youth Ministry Office by June 1st.
