Faith Formation Office
Our classes will begin in September, summer is the time to register for the upcoming academic year.
If your family was registered in the Faith Formation program last year, you must re-register for the upcoming year.
Please register early to reserve a spot for you or your child, we have limited space in our classrooms.
For the 2023-2024 Faith Formation year, registrations will open the summer of 2023!
Become Faith Formation Catechist or Volunteer
For the 2023-2024 Faith Formation year, we are looking for:
- Catechist
- Assistant Catechist
- Teen Assistant
- Traffic Control
- Hall Monitor
- Prayer Warriors
Sacrament Preparation
First Holy Communion: is a 2-year preparation program that begins in
the 1st grade. Children are normally prepared to receive the Sacrament
of Reconciliation (Confession) and Holy Communion during 2nd grade.
However, we offer the program for children of all ages.
Confirmation: is a 3-year preparation program that begins in the 6th
grade. Children are prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation
during the spring of the 8th grade year. However, we offer the program
for children of all ages.
RCIC: is a 2-year preparation program for children between the ages
of 8 and 17. Children are prepared to receive the Sacraments of
Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation during the second
year of preparation at the Easter Vigil Mass.
OCIC: is a 1-year preparation program for adults not baptized or have
been baptized in another Christian tradition wanting to join the
Catholic Church
Faith Formation Inclement Weather Policy
Holy Family Faith Formation classes follow Prince William County Public School closing schedule in the event of inclement weather.
- Sunday, Tuesday, or Thursday classes are cancelled when Prince William County Public Schools cancel school and/or after school and evening activities (including Sunday activities) due to inclement weather.
- Classes are NOT CANCELLED when Prince William County Public Schools OPEN LATE on Tuesday or Thursday due to inclement weather. Classes are held as usual
