Baptism of Older Children
The OCIC (Order of the Christian Initiation for Children) Program is a 2-year program for children who have not been baptized or have been baptized in another Christian denomination. The program teaches the children about the Catholic faith and prepares them to receive the sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation).
- Children between the age of 7 to 17 who have not been baptized or who have been baptized in another Christian denomination
- Must complete a Faith Formation registration (available in the beginning of June) for each year in the program
How long does it take to receive the sacraments of Initiation?
- The child must be enrolled (consecutively) for two years in our OCIC program
When do they receive the Sacraments of Initiation?
- The children, on their second year of the program, receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass
When do I register my child for the OCIC program?
- Registrations for our Faith Formation program are available in the beginning of June
