The Miss Festival contest serves as a dual-purpose event by not only celebrating a diverse community spirit, but also contributing to charitable causes, such as fundraising for our parish. The young ladies listed below are the 2024 Miss Festival Candidates, the young lady that sells the most votes will be crowned September 7th at the Holy Family Fun Festival. $1 equals 1 vote. El concurso Miss Festival sirve como un evento de doble propósito, no solo celebrando un espíritu comunitario diverso sino también contribuyendo a causas caritativas, como la recaudación de fondos para nuestra parroquia. I would be honored to serve as Holy family's Miss Fun Festival 2024, My name is Jaylinne Lopez and I believe I can contribute to making this year's festival memorable and meaningful for everyone. I have done religious education classes since 2016 and I’m currently still taking classes, but this would be my last year as I head into confirmation. This past school year I had been in yearbook club, and I had gotten into National Junior Honor Society for this upcoming school year. I had also been elected out of 5 people to be apart of All county band and on top of that I had been selected to be in the Prince William County art show for 2024.
 
I pray with St. Mary Di Rosa and they help me to care for the sick and to have courage, and bravery to stand for others so they feel protected and so I won’t have worries to approach new opportunities and in helping me through this journey. Representing Holy Family in this role would be a privilege, allowing me to further connect with our community and celebrate our shared catholic traditions.
 
Sería un honor para mí ser Miss Fun Festival 2024 de la Sagrada Familia. Mi nombre es Jaylinne López y creo que puedo contribuir a que el festival de este año sea memorable y significativo para todos. He tomado clases de educación religiosa desde 2016 y actualmente sigo tomando clases, pero este sería mi último año mientras me dirijo a la confirmación. El año escolar pasado estuve en el club de yearbook y me inscribí en la Sociedad Nacional de Honor Juvenil para el próximo año escolar. También fui elegido entre cinco personas para formar parte de la banda All County y, además, fui seleccionado para estar en la exposición de arte del condado de Prince William para 2024.

Rezo con Santa María Di Rosa y ellos me ayudan a cuidar a los enfermos y a tener coraje y valentía para defender a los demás para que se sientan protegidos y así no tenga preocupaciones para acercarme a nuevas oportunidades y ayudarme en este viaje. Representar a la Sagrada Familia en este rol sería un privilegio, ya que me permitiría conectarme aún más con nuestra comunidad y celebrar nuestras tradiciones católicas compartidas.

I am Katherine Villanueva Duarte, honored to be a candidate for Miss Fun Festival 2024 at the Holy Family Parish, and I humbly ask for your support. My passion for our community and my dedication to bringing joy and unity to our festival drive my commitment to this role. Over the years, I have served as a teacher's assistant at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Sterling, Virginia, which was my home for a long time before coming to Holy Family.
 
I have chosen Saint Catherine of Siena as my inspiration for this journey because of her unwavering courage, wisdom, and dedication to serving others. Her example of selfless service and deep faith motivates me to strive for excellence in everything I do. By embodying her spirit, I hope to bring a sense of grace and enthusiasm to our event. Together, with your support, we can create a festival that truly reflects the heart and soul of our wonderful community.
 
Soy Katherine Villanueva Duarte, honrada de ser candidata para el Miss Fun Festival 2024 en la parroquia de la Sagrada Familia, y pido humildemente su apoyo. Mi pasión por nuestra comunidad y mi dedicación a traer alegría y unidad a nuestro festival impulsan mi compromiso con este rol. A lo largo de los años, he servido como asistente de maestra en la iglesia de Cristo Redentor en Sterling, Virginia, que fue mi hogar durante mucho tiempo antes de llegar a la iglesia de la Sagrada Familia.
 
He elegido a Santa Catalina de Siena como mi inspiración para este viaje debido a su inquebrantable coraje, sabiduría y dedicación al servicio de los demás. Su ejemplo de servicio desinteresado y profunda fe me motiva a luchar por la excelencia en todo lo que hago. Al encarnar su espíritu, espero aportar un sentido de gracia y entusiasmo a nuestro evento. Karina Amaya 
 
Hi my name is Karina Amaya and I would like to start off by saying that it is an honor to be a contestant in this years Holy Family Miss Festival and a pleasure to run alongside beautiful young ladies who represent a Proverbs 31 Woman. You may have seen me selling tacos in previous HF Festivals or running after kids in Vocational Bible School, or facilitating at retreats. You may recognize me as an Usher or a Catechist, but most importantly I hope to be recognized for being “clothed with strength and dignity”- Proverbs 31:25. This Bible Verse, I strive to live by day and night.

I humbly pray with Mother Theresa to help guide me, so that I can set an example of what being a faithful Daughter of God is. To attract especially other young ladies seeking the Lord. As a community, as Brothers and Sisters in Christ, we can all win a key to the Gates of Heaven if we all try to imitate Our Lord, loving our neighbors and spreading the Good News... and this is one of my ways of doing so. Thank you. May God Bless. Cant wait to see everyone at the Festival!
 
Hola, mi nombre es Karina Amaya y me gustaría comenzar diciendo que es un honor ser concursante de Miss Festival de la Sagrada Familia de este año y un placer correr junto a hermosas jóvenes que representan a una Mujer de Proverbios 31. Es posible que me hayas visto vendiendo tacos en festivales HF anteriores, o corriendo detrás de niños en la VBS, o facilitando retiros. Puede que me reconozcas como ujier o catequista, pero lo más importante es que espero que me reconozcan por estar “revestido de fuerza y ​​dignidad” (Proverbios 31:25). Este versículo de la Biblia, me esfuerzo por vivir de día y de noche.

Humildemente oro con la Madre Teresa para que me ayude a guiarme, para que pueda dar ejemplo de lo que es ser una fiel Hija de Dios. Atraer especialmente a otras jóvenes que buscan al Señor. Como comunidad, como Hermanos y Hermanas en Cristo, todos podemos ganar la llave de las Puertas del Cielo si todos intentamos imitar a Nuestro Señor, amando al prójimo y difundiendo la Buena Nueva... y esta es una de mis formas de haciéndolo. I believe I should win the pageant because my dedication to the church and love for others reflect the core values of compassion, service, and community that this title represents. My platform is based on helping others with the saintly guidance of Saint Rose of Lima, whose example of beauty and humility inspires my actions. Being bilingual allows me to connect with and serve a broader audience, fostering inclusivity and understanding. My commitment to personal growth, education, and volunteer work demonstrates my drive to make a positive impact. Extremely approachable and loved by the church community, I lector, volunteer in the office, babysit children, and volunteer in Vacation Bible School, all of which underscore my dedication to service. I have also helped in previous festivals, gaining valuable experience and contributing to our community's joy and togetherness.
 
Additionally, I am an alumna of Holy Family Catholic School, where I spent my entire childhood, and I am currently attending Saint John Paul the Great Catholic School. These experiences have deeply rooted me in the faith and values I hold dear. I am passionate about using this platform to promote meaningful causes, inspire others, and represent our community with grace and integrity. With a strong sense of purpose and a heart devoted to helping others, I am the perfect candidate for this honor.
 
I am choosing Saint Rose of Lima to guide me through the Miss Festival process because she is revered as the saint of beauty, embodying both inner and outer grace. Saint Rose dedicated her life to humility, compassion, and the service of others, qualities that I aspire to emulate in this journey. Her strength and perseverance in the face of challenges inspire me to remain steadfast and true to my values. Additionally, her deep faith and devotion remind me to stay grounded and seek spiritual strength throughout this experience. With Saint Rose of Lima's guidance, I hope to reflect beauty not only in appearance but also in character and spirit.
 
Creo que debería ganar el certamen porque mi dedicación a la iglesia y mi amor por los demás reflejan los valores fundamentales de compasión y servicio a la comunidad que este título representa. Mi plataforma se basa en ayudar a los demás con la guía santa de Santa Rosa de Lima, cual ejemplo de belleza y humildad inspira mis acciones. Ser bilingüe me permite conectar y servir a mi parroquia, fomentando la inclusión y el entendimiento. Mi compromiso con el crecimiento personal, la educación y el trabajo voluntario demuestra mi impulso para tener un impacto positivo. Extremadamente accesible y querida por la comunidad de la iglesia, soy lectora, voluntaria en la oficina, cuido a niños y participó en la Escuela Bíblica de Vacaciones cada año, todo lo cual subraya mi dedicación al servicio. También ayudó en festivales anteriores, obteniendo una valiosa experiencia y contribuyendo a la alegría y unidad de nuestra comunidad.

Estoy apasionada por usar esta plataforma para promover causas significativas, inspirar a otros y representar a nuestra comunidad con gracia e integridad. Eleji a Santa Rosa de Lima para que me guíe en el proceso de Señorita Festival 2024 porque es venerada como la santa de la belleza, personificando tanto la gracia interior como exterior. Santa Rosa dedicó su vida a la humildad, la compasión y el servicio a los demás, cualidades que aspiro a emular en este camino. Su fortaleza y perseverancia frente a los desafíos me inspiran a mantenerme firme y fiel a mis valores y a Dios. Además, su profunda fe y devoción me recuerdan la importancia de mantenerme centrada y buscar fortaleza espiritual a lo largo de esta experiencia. Con la guía de Santa Rosa de Lima, espero reflejar la belleza no solo en apariencia, sino también en carácter y espíritu.

Hello, my name is Marjorie Velasquez, and I would be honored to serve as Holy Family Miss Festival 2024. When I was younger, I was involved in the church. I would volunteer as an assistant cathectic and be a volunteer in VBS! I had a little break and found my way back. I always loved helping kids learn more about the religion because they think of so many questions which also makes you think further.
 
I pray with the Saint Therese of Lisieux. She helps me with this journey because of her “little way”. Saint Therese suffered & passed away because of tuberculosis at a very young age. She turned all that pain and suffering to glorify and help save the souls of others outside of other churches and religions. Because of this, she is known for finding the little ways to find God in simple and ordinary means. Doing things around the church is my little way of finding God and creating a relationship with him. Representing Holy Family in this role would be an honor, offering me the opportunity to deepen my connection with our community and celebrate our shared catholic traditions.  
 
Hola, mi nombre es Marjorie Velasquez y sería un honor para mí ser Miss Festival de la Sagrada Familia 2024. Cuando era más joven, estuve involucrada en la iglesia. ¡Me ofrecería como voluntaria como asistente catéctica y sería voluntaria en EBV! Tuve un pequeño descanso y encontré el camino de regreso. Siempre me encantó ayudar a los niños a aprender más sobre la religión porque piensan en muchas preguntas que también te hacen pensar más.
 
Rezo con Santa Teresa de Lisieux. Ella me ayuda en este viaje gracias a su “camino”. Santa Teresa sufrió y falleció a causa de la tuberculosis a una edad muy temprana. Ella convirtió todo ese dolor y sufrimiento para glorificar y ayudar a salvar las almas de otros fuera de otras iglesias y religiones. Por esto, es conocida por encontrar los pequeños caminos para encontrar a Dios de manera simple y ordinaria. Hacer cosas en la iglesia es mi pequeña manera de encontrar a Dios y crear una relación con él. Representar a la Sagrada Familia en este rol sería un honor, ya que me ofrecería la oportunidad de profundizar mi conexión con nuestra comunidad y celebrar nuestras tradiciones católicas compartidas.

My name is Natalie Ramirez Rosa, I would be honored to serve as Holy Family Miss Festival 2024. I am thoroughly excited to contribute and help our parish this year as well as making it a memorable festival!
 
I pray with Saint Anthony to help me and guide me through this adventure, I have chosen this Saint because he is a great reminder of my family roots, Saint Anthony is the Saint in San Miguel, El Salvador where my family is from ! Representing not only Holy Family but as well as El Salvador, it would be a great privilege but also gives me the opportunity to connect with my community and grow closer to God! 
 
Mi nombre es Natalie Ramirez Rosa, sería un honor para mí ser Miss Festival 2024 de la Sagrada Familia. ¡Estoy muy emocionada de contribuir y ayudar a nuestra parroquia este año, además de convertirlo en un festival memorable!
 
Rezo con San Antonio para que me ayude y guíe en esta aventura. He elegido a este Santo porque es un gran recordatorio de mis raíces familiares. ¡San Antonio es el Santo en San Miguel, El Salvador, de donde es mi familia! Representar no solo a la Sagrada Familia sino también a El Salvador, sería un gran privilegio pero también me da la oportunidad de conectarme con mi comunidad y acercarme más a Dios.
