PASTORAL COUNCIL MINUTES

August 27, 2020

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 pm.

Members Present:    Larry Pemberton, Kevin McVicker, Terry Mannion, Cathy Pierce, Emelda August, Freddy Andrade, Sue Jones, Jack Beers, Linda DeBroux, Lorena Gudiel, Shonna Montoro, Carol Krieger, Wayne Mattson and Fr. Ramon Baez.

Opening Prayer:   Fr. Ramon led us in the Opening Prayer.

Chairperson’s Remarks:   Larry Pemberton welcomed everyone to the Council.  He asked us to read the By-Laws on the parish website.   Members introduced themselves.

Pastor’s Remarks:  Fr. Ramon thanked the members of the outgoing council for their service.  He thanked Larry Pemberton, the outgoing chairperson,  for his years of service.  He welcomed the new members.  Fr. Ramon asked the council members to pray and think about how to address racism in the parish.   How can we build bridges among the diverse communities?

Election of New Officers:  Larry Pemberton explained the rules of election and a handout was provided to each member.  The newly elected officers are:  Chairperson, Wayne Mattson; Vice-Chairperson Freddy Andrade; Secretary, Carol Krieger.  They will form the Executive Council which meets with Fr. Baez prior to regular Council meetings

Next Meeting:  October 27, 2020 at 6:30.

Closing Prayer:    Wayne Mattson offered the closing prayer.

The Meeting was adjourned at 7:51 pm.
