Danita Moses ... Seniors On Step (S.O.S.)
- Line dancing is a popular and great form of exercise for all ages, especially for older adults. It stimulates the
brain, reduces stress, lowers the likelihood of developing Alzheimer’s and dementia, increases mental capacity, improves posture and balance, tones body, strengthens bones and muscles, provides opportunity to socialize and meet people. Unlike certain exercise routines, line dancing doesn’t demand pricey equipment or memberships. All you need is some toe-tapping music and sufficient room to groove, making it accessible to
everyone, regardless of financial limitations. This next group is going to show you what I mean. Seniors On Step (S.O.S.) was formed by Danita Moses and is based in Alexandria, VA. Their mission is to promote health and wellness, movement, fellowship and pure FUN among active seniors and the general public. S.O.S. is a high energy line dance performance group, consisting of dancers 55+ years of age. They have appeared at the NBC 4 Health and Fitness Expo, Adams Morgan Day Festival, Pittsburgh Line Dance Convention, Texas Jam in Dallas, TX to name a few.
